Why All the Cool Kids are Investing on this Tropical Island

Happy Saturday, Fellow Real Estate Go-Getter! I'm on a high because I got to visit Puerto Rico for a few days to take care of some business, including completing a walk-through on a property with my contractor. I'm stoked to close on this one ASAP! I left Puerto Rico last August, believing I would begin my digital nomad journey in the U.K., while exploring countries such as Italy and Portugal for potential residency and/or citizenship. Although I found those places intriguing, I realized it wasn't yet time to launch. So, I returned to Chicago to regroup. In the midst of that, I've been thinking of what I might do next. To be honest, I'm still waiting for direction, but I have ties to Puerto Rico and the States. And honestly, it's starting to feel good enough in this season. I am grateful to be an American, with the option to explore the Caribbean and the Americas with relative ease. I like those places and feel relatively comfortable there. On the other hand, in the UK and across Europe, the requirements for longer-term stays are much more stringent. I had to sit down and realize I don't have the bandwidth to figure all that out right now. One day I will, but in the meantime, I'm living and investing in places I know well, such as Chicago, Florida, and the Caribbean. To sum up, I tried something that didn't quite fit, but I'm pleased to have landed in a place where I have options. Along with options, I am moving towards even more clarity in terms of what I desire and what I want that to look like. (Check out my IG post about my trip to Puerto Rico don't forget to follow, too.)
